Natia Dune was born in the former Soviet republic of Georgia to a family of performers and artists that span three generations. Her grandmother, Medea Chakhava was one of the great actress of Georgian theatre and cinematography. Her grandfather, Kote Makharadze, was an actor and was considered one of the greatest TV commentators all over Soviet Union and mostly in Georgia. Later Kote Makharadze married Sofiko Chiaureli- famous Georgian actress who had played in more than 100 roles in theater and cinema in Georgia and worldwide. She was known to be the muse of eminent film-director Sergei Parajanov and played the main roles in all of his movies. Due to this Natia's childhood passed through her step-grandmother's great family. Sofiko's mother- Veriko Anjaparidze was actress who is recognized by UNESCO as world's top ten actresses. Her uncle Temur Chkheidze was an artistic manager of G.Tovstonogov Drama Theatre in St. Petersburg. Now he lives in Tbilisi and works in "Shota Rustaveli Theater and Film Gerorgia State University" and has his own studio in "Royal District Theater". Being raised around the arts, she began dancing ballet at the age of eight. After four years, when she was thirteen, she moved to Monte Carlo, Monaco, after having won a scholarship to the Princess Grace Academy of Classical Dance. After many years of dancing, she decided to take a break and move to Paris, where she modeled professionally. She then moved to New York where she studied acting at the famed Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. She has performed all over the world including New York, Moscow, Los Angeles, Monte Carlo and her native Tblisi, Georgia.
